Following previous installments of the epic journeys and battles of Middle-Earth, powerful, ancient forces of light and dark are amassing for the final battle that will determine the fate of Middle-Earth. All hope for triumph lies with two brave hobbits – Frodo and his loyal friend, Sam – finally reaching Mordor after a lengthy, tedious, and challenging journey to destroy the ring of power. One member of the Fellowship of the Ring is revealed as the noble heir to Isildur and the throne of Gondor, and he leads forces of good against Sauron’s evil army at the stone city of Minas Tirith. He is crowned Elessar, a name given to him by Galadriel, becoming the 26th King of Arnor, the 35th King of Gondor, and the first High King of the Reunited Kingdom.
The original score of Howard Shore, with its masterful use of leitmotifs true to the races and characters of the timeless epic, has achieved multiple accolades, such as three Oscars, two Golden Globes, and three Grammy Awards, among many other nominations, and rightfully so. There are few words that can truly describe the magnitude and perfection of the score.
Maestro Ludwig Wicki is no stranger to delivering magnificent performances of Howard Shore’s epic score. He oversaw the 2011 recording and conducting of the orchestra for “The Lord of the Rings Symphony: Six Movements for Orchestra and Chorus” and will once again be leading one of the greatest orchestras in the world in the performance of the score for the final installation of the trilogy.
The Cleveland Orchestra, comprising over 100 highly qualified members from around the globe, has been hailed as “America’s most brilliant orchestra” and “one of the finest ensembles in the country (if not the world)” by the New York Times and is counted among the world’s top 10 orchestras by Gramophone.
The breath-taking Blossom Music Centre, the Cleveland Orchestra’s summer home, regularly enjoys the absolute perfection, precision, and grandeur of the orchestra, performing to sold-out audiences of up to 19,000 people. The outdoor venue sports 5,700 seats in the pavilion and a further 13,500 spaces on the lawn, under the stars. A musical experience unlike any other is on the cards, and tickets are selling fast, so get yours now!
