Is this a summer of love? Or is this a summer of exploration??? The English indie-pop band Glass Animals, return to the big stage with a brand-new album, and an insane 41 date tour, The Tour of Earth 2024. Kicking off in Charlotte, North Carolina, before hitting New York City, Philadelphia, Toronto, Cincinnati, Nashville, Kansas City, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Dallas, Phoenix, Denver and Austin, Texas for August and September. The band then fly back across the pond and do it all over again in Paris, Brussels, Warsaw, Berlin, Milan, Zurich, Amsterdam, Dublin, Manchester, Glasgow and end up back home for London’s massive O2 arena in November.

So, what makes this so much more special than any other indie band? Well, these boys grew with live music, they intend to mix up every single set, sometimes just before they go live. “I actually came from a DJ background. I started DJ'ng clubs in London when I was really young,” frontman Dave Bayley says. “Really good DJs react to the feeling in the room, and you pick up the tempo slowly sometimes. Sometimes you start with the fast stuff, you bring it down and then up again.”

Glass Animals, who came out with the sleeper hit, “Heat Waves,” almost four years ago to the date, also include Drew MacFarlane on guitar and keys, Edmund Irwin-Singer on bass and keys, and drummer Joe Seaward, have recently announced their brand-new followup to 2020s “Dreamland,” and fourth studio album, I Love You So F***ing Much.

It's an interesting collection of not love songs, love songs, songs about longing, past relationships, and one special song about being hogtied and thrown into the trunk of a Corolla. “Each try to kind of touch on a different side of love,” Bayley says. “I love trying to build a whole world.” The first single from the album, “Creatures in Heaven,” which you can watch down below, is a memory of a tender, intimate moment. “You held me like my mother made me just for you/You held me so close that I broke in two.”

Glass Animals, with special guest, Kevin Abstract at Blossom Music Center on Wednesday, August 21st, 2024. Tickets are available right now, and are selling, faster than a purple pyramid travels in a light year!
