Blossom Festival Band: Sinatra and Beyond at Blossom Music Center

Tony DeSare’s career has always been linked to the great Frank Sinatra in one way or another. That’s one of the reasons he’s been chosen to partner with the Blossom Festival band on this late night in August. He performed in the Our Sinatra musical off-Broadway in the mid-2000s. This is where he was discovered by jazz guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, who’s arguably the biggest influence in his career. Since then DeSare’s music has been marked by jazz, blues, soul, and of course, Frank Sinatra. The talent he has on the piano is one of the first things that you’ll notice on that night in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

The performance isn’t just going to be a tribute to Frank. In fact, one of the best things about Tony DeSare is that he doesn’t try to be Frank. He has a very strong voice to sing some of the classic songs like “Fly Me to the Moon.” “My Way” is another one of the obvious songs that are going to be playing that night. DeSare, though, will first mix in some of his jazz influence. The piano solos will also be abundant that night.

One of the biggest mysteries is how the band will complement these. It’s certainly going to be a match made in heaven. The vocals are strong because they carry their own tone, which helps create that romantic vibe. Love and old-town music will be in the air at the Blossom Music Center on Sunday, August 25th. If you’re expecting to hear Frank Sinatra-esque vocals as an imitator, you may be disappointed. DeSare’s rendition, though, is completely respectful of the original while allowing him to get through the songs in his own rhythm. As far as artists playing Frank Sinatra, he’s one of the best because of the unique vocals!

The experience inside the Blossom Music Center can be completely different from what you’ll be a part of within the grass area. On this night, however, each of them could be equally romantic, perfect for date night. It depends, though, if you want to dress up and sit next to the stage to accompany Tony DeSare and the band up close.
