Outlaw Music Festival: Willie Nelson and Family, John Fogerty, Kathleen Edwards, Flatand Cavalry & Particle Kid at Blossom Music Center

Our favorite country blues rock legend Willie Nelson is turning 90, and he’s stronger than ever. This brilliant man took over the’60s and ‘70s with hits like “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain,” “Shotgun Willie,” “Stay All Night (Stay A Little Longer),” “Hello Walls,” “Pretty Paper,” and more. In 1973, Nelson made waves with his highly-successful 16th album, Shotgun Willie, which peaked at number 41 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. By 1975, Nelson achieved his first number 1 record upon the release of Red Headed Stranger. The 18th studio album topped the Country chart and peaked at number 28 on the Billboard 200. This career-defining record spawned the massive number 1 hit, “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain,” and the number 2 Hot Country song hit “Remember Me.” The album’s phenomenal success led to two million copies sold, resulting in a double platinum certification in the U.S.

The Outlaw Music Festival at the Blossom Music Center will also feature rock legend John Fogerty, who has had a fantastic country rock music career after his time with Creedence Clearwater Revival. In 1985, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer released his first number 1 solo album, Centerfield, topping the Billboard 200 and a few other international charts. His latest album, Fogerty’s Factory, was released in 2020 and received wide acclaim from fans and critics.
